The end of the year is approaching fast. Sue and myself are conducting one more 2 day workshop in Dunedin this year in December, see "training" page.
Next year is shaping up with many wonderful invitations to work with the topics of Hope and Self-care. I have listed some of those in the Training and Speaking pages.
I am thinking back to a year where I met with and worked with many special people and I would like to acknowledge some of them.
Yvonne Bray from the Goodfellow Unit continuing education in palliative care. She has been tireless in promoting the pall. care work for many years and I feel privileged to have contributed a very small part in this ongoing training.
Dr. Rajagopal and his team in India in February. It has been such a profound experience to work in Kerala and see some of the work that has been achieved under very difficult circumstances. The hospitality was heart-warming and humbling.
It was much fun to conduct a seminar on Hope together with Dr. David Brumley and Dr. Mhoira Leng at the palliative refresher course in Trivandrum and conducting a self-care workshop together with Sue Marsden and Realee Jensen(who was a superb host for Sue and myself).
In March I had the privilege to be speaking at the allied Northern Health Conference and Jenny James and her team were wonderful hosts.
Gabrielle Masters at Warkworth Hospice made very sure that I was well looked after and I enjoyed working with the team.
Onto the Inaugural counselling conference in Hong Kong in July. The people who stand out there are Dr. Catherine Sun from HK, Vi Woolf, Dianne Begg and Anita Bocchino from NZAC who worked so very hard to make all this happen.
Then Malaysia and as always a very hospitable team from Hospis Malaysia, Sylvia and Ednin, many many thanks for your welcome, your input, wisdom and fun!
And also many thanks to Dato Seri Dr. Deveraj in Penang for his welcome and expertise in the field.
In Tauranga thank you to Bob Howe for his invitation, support and warm welcome.
In Dunedin, many thanks to Otago Hospice for inviting Sue and myself and thank you to Lis Latta for the wonderful organisation of our workshops.
So onto the next year, I am very much looking forward to doing some work in several places in New Zealand, Australia, Hong Kong and Sichuan(hopefully, depending on funding) and to return to Malaysia.
